Your humble cartoonist geeked out and caught the big movie on opening night. Like so many blockbuster franchises, it devolves into an overdone parody of the original magic. In the end, Spiderman 3 was like its opening sequence - a series of spectacular scenes only connected by a thin web. The movie manages to entertain but not please.
